DESCRIPTION: The
SmellAgain is a 3 piece apparatus consisting of a mouthpiece,
an 18” hose and a SUBPAD (Sharbrough’s Universal Base Plate
Adapter) which attaches to your stoma button or housing. It
ships fully assembled and ready to use. It is easily
disassembled for cleaning, and instructions are included.
FUNCTION: The SmellAgain
restores FULL nasal function allowing the user to inhale
and exhale with however much force is desired. So, whether
you want to enjoy the aroma of a rose with a long smooth draw,
or you want to declare war on that runny nose with a mighty
blast into a Kleenex… have at it!
VERSATILE: The SUBPAD was
designed by Carter R. Sharbrough, himself a laryngectomee,
with the assistance of a technical engineer. It has been
injection molded and checked at 19 different points for
Quality Control to insure adherence to the initial design
tolerance. The result is a high quality, durable and
versatile base plate adapter tested on and recommended for the
following fittings:

as
well as adhesive housings from both Atos and InHealth.
3 ADAPTERS IN 1: The SUBPAD
is detachable and can be used with other hoses for
applications in addition to the SmellAgain. The tiered design
of its protrusion allows it to be used with 15, 18 & 22mm
hoses!
PORTABLE: At 5.5 ounces,
the SmellAgain is light enough to carry anywhere. When tucked
into a pretzel shape, it conveniently fits into a pants
pocket, purse, golf bag or glove box. When untucked, it hangs
easily on the towel or shower rod for a quick blow of the nose
while showering. Keep several in handy places.
CLINICAL APPLICATION: There
are many other uses for the SmellAgain, including the
application of local anesthetic before a peek down the throat
with a scope. When they ask you to “try to sniff”, just pull
out your SmellAgain and voila!
